Ethnoguessr introduced in 2023 and was made by GeoPlay Studios. It’s basically a geography quiz game but in a casual arcade style. You get pictures or short clips from around the world and your job is to guess where they are.
The game shows you an image and you have to pick the country or point it on the map. The closer you are, the more points you get. Some images have little hints in the background like signs, clothes, or buildings. It’s simple but addicting, because you want to get a high score and see how fast you can guess. The interface is easy map on one side, picture on the other and it works fine on mobile or desktop.
Some levels are funny or tricky. One level might show a random festival, and you have to figure out which country it’s from based on clothes or decorations. Another level could have a weird building or road sign. These little details make you actually look at the picture instead of just guessing.
Look for tiny hints road markings, text on signs, plants, or flags. Don’t rush too much because accuracy counts, but don’t spend forever either or your score drops. Learning a few global flags and famous landmarks can help a lot.
