Flappy Bird came out in 2013, made by Dong Nguyen. It’s a tiny mobile game that’s really simple but crazy hard. You control a little bird and try to get it through gaps in pipes without crashing. That’s basically it.
The gameplay is just tapping. Tap to flap, don’t tap and the bird falls. Hit a pipe, it’s game over. Pass a pipe and your score goes up by one. That’s it. The challenge comes from keeping control and not panicking. Each round is short, so you keep going back to try again.
Flappy Bird doesn’t have fancy stuff. The pixel graphics are simple, the sound effects are tiny chirps. It’s all about timing and rhythm. The levels don’t end just keep going until you crash. It’s also inspired a bunch of similar games with the same tap-to-fly style.
Flappy Bird is basically a just one more try kind of game. It’s easy to pick up, impossible to master, and perfect for quick mobile sessions when you want a little challenge.
