Color Block Jam introduced in 2023, made by a small indie team, and it’s basically a chill block puzzle game. Nothing complicated. You get a grid, you get random pieces, and the whole point is just to place them in a way that keeps the board from clogging up. It feels like the kind of game someone plays on a break and then ends up playing way longer than planned.
The gameplay is super simple. You drag blocks from the tray into the open spaces on the board. When you fill a whole row or column, it just disappears and gives you more room. The animations are quick and clean, so the board doesn’t distract you.
There’s no timer pushing you, so the game isn’t stressful. But the challenge shows up fast if the wrong shapes pile up. Since you can’t rotate the pieces, you kind of have to make the best of what you’re given. That’s what makes the game interesting you’re always trying to make space while the board slowly tightens up.
The goal is just to keep going and score as much as possible before running out of moves. That’s it. As long as you keep clearing lines, the board stays open and the run keeps going. When you get two or three clears in a row, it feels good and bumps the score pretty fast. The longer you last, the more satisfying it gets.
