Deltarune is a game by Toby Fox, launched in 2018. It’s kinda like Undertale, so if you liked that you’ll probably get it. You play as Kris, walking around a weird world, talking to strange characters, and sometimes you fight in these turn-based battles. The battles aren’t just attack stuff you can defend, act, or try to spare enemies. Timing and choices actually matter, which makes it more interesting than just hitting buttons.
Playing the game is pretty simple to get into. You move Kris around with arrows or WASD, talk to people, pick up items, and solve little puzzles. The fights pop up here and there, and your party members have their own abilities, so mixing up what everyone does helps a lot. Some enemies can be avoided if you do the right action, so it’s not always about brute force.
What’s really fun about Deltarune is the world and the characters. Everything’s kinda weird and funny, and there’s a lot of small details if you explore. The music is awesome too it really makes fights and areas feel different. You can replay parts to see different outcomes, and small choices can change things a bit. The game isn’t huge, but it’s easy to spend hours poking around and trying new stuff.
